2/12/18 Minutes
1. Meet, greet and sign in, new attendees adding addresses to roster, at 1 p.m.
A. Sara Seltzer called the meeting to order at 1:01 p.m. Present besides Seltzer: Sheila Torres, Rae Miller, Denise Malvini, Wendy Markel, Anne Shulenberger, Rosemary Fischer, Loreta Landucci, Jeannie Jones, David Besenfelder and Sandra Nordgren. Dave LaFlewy (sp?) visited briefly.
2. November minutes unanimously approved on a motion by Malvini, seconded by Seltzer.
3. Treasurer Torres reported a petty cash balance of $49.20 and a bank balance of $111.27. Unanimously approved on a voice vote.
4. Library report: Nordgren confirmed her previously suggested movie, book day at her house, amending accommodations to about a dozen people.
5. Webmaster report: again noted website update; email book reviews to [email protected] for posting on website: www.horseenthusiasts.weebly.com.
6. Old business:
A. Holiday Party: Many favorable comments about food choices, bingo, another party next January. Seltzer suggested continued attendance at December Xenophon benefit dinner at Gianni’s Bistro in San Ramon.
7. New business:
A. Dues payable at mail slot in Gateway; several members paid dues at meeting, including some new members.
B. Reinstein Ranch – contact email provided; Miller to email request for tour, picnic, riding lessons.
C. Nordgren suggestion auction of member-donated items with proceeds to a horse rescue. Malvini suggested instead of auction a club table at June 23 flea market; Malvini to reserve table.
D. Miller- Equine Assisted Workshops starting in March at Xenophon.
E. Club invited to participate in Derby Party at Fireside. Besenfelder said club flyers could be distributed; Malvini is contact.
8. Sharing:
A. Tenny update: Lew and Torres on Mondays. Miller to take photos for story.
B. Racing update: Camino’s Santa Anita race reviewed; Besenfelder showed photos, described two horses purchased.
C. Diana St. James Omigata presentation postponed until March
9. The meeting was adjourned at 2:37 p.m.
