1. Meet, greet and sign in, new attendees adding addresses to roster, at 4 p.m. a. Mary Moreau called the meeting to order at 4:05 p.m. b. Present besides Moreau were Robbee Royce, Rae Miller, Kathie Paul, David Besenfelder, Denise Malvini, Jennie Lew, Ardean Lehnus, Joan Dougherty and Sheila Torres.. 2. Minutes of the Feb. 15 meeting were read, corrected spelling of Paul’s first name (Kathie, not Kathy) and unanimously approved on a motion by Paul, seconded by Royce. 3. Treasurer’s report – a. Dues for 2016 are payable, and those collected before they are due in May will not be due until May 2017. b. Balance in the club account is $122.33 reflecting deposit of $10 in dues. Unanimously approved on a Royce motion, seconded by Paul. 4. Old business: a. Activities Council– Paul attended the Feb. 16 meeting, reporting that the meeting primarily consisted of listing upcoming events and that signup was required if attendees wanted to speak, apparently a new policy. Miller to attend April meeting. b. Web site – tabled. c. Librarian – tabled. d. Display case at Gateway: Royce, Paul and Miller met Feb. 26 and installed a new display. Miller emailed a photo and displayed it at the meeting. Paul submitted a receipt for materials and was reimbursed $9.12 from petty cash. e. Channel 28 report – Moreau requested contact information for items to be listed in the club’s notice. 5. New business: a. April election of officers: Lew withdrew from slate as vice president, replaced by Paul; Denise Malvini, president; Jennie Lew, vice president; Rae Miller, secretary; Sheila Torres, treasurer. Further nominations are invited. b. By-laws revision: unanimously approved with further revisions (attached) on a motion by Royce, seconded by Paul. c. GRF’s decision regarding horse pasture: Following discussion and suggestion by Lew, Moreau to invite CEO Tim O’Keefe to April meeting to clarify policy. 6. Activities and Opportunities a. Rossmoor horses: Visit to Max, Bell, Spot and Buzz Lightyear rained out. Max and Bell have been moved to another location b. Tasha update: Torres, Paul and Dougherty plan to meet with Tasha’s owner to learn about providing care and companionship. c. Xenophon Dollar Day report: Bernell and Royce volunteered for March 6 fundraiser at Golden Gate Fields, and photo of the group was emailed to members. 7. The meeting adjourned at 5 p.m. Next meeting: 4 p.m. Monday, April 18, 2016.
