4/17/2017 Minutes
1. Meet, greet and sign in, new attendees adding addresses to roster, at 4 p.m.
A. Mary Moreau called the meeting to order at 4:06 p.m. in the foyer of Creekside Grill because another club had been assigned to meet in the Mulligan Room. Present besides Moreau: Sheila Torres, Mary Dodds, Robbee Royce, Jennie Lew, Sara Seltzer, Loretta Landucci and Rae Miller.
2. March minutes unanimously approved on a motion by Landucci, seconded by Seltzer.
3. Treasurer Torres reported a petty cash balance of $39.20 and a bank balance of $335.23 with a total balance of $374.43. The report was approved by acclamation. Membership update listed 12 paid members. Dues, $10, for 2017-2018 are payable.
4. Library report: Librarian to keep name, email record of items checked out and to be returned at the next meeting following checkout.
5. Webmaster absent, no report.
6. Old business:
A. Landucci to obtain possible dates to tour Reinman Stable, Livermore. Event open to paid members only.
B. Rossmoor Stable followup: Miller read portion of CEO’s 6/27/16 email detailing reasons for closure, which followed his and Jeff Matheson’s participation at the club’s 6/20/16 meeting. Members agreed that establishing a stable at Rossmoor is a lost cause due to lack of accessible open space.
7. New business:
A. Moreau away until October/November. Visitors at her summer residence in Sierraville welcome; call her at 925-989-6846 for travel, lodging information.
B. Miller to contact Recreation Dept. to arrange another meeting time, place.
C. Ideas for events: Xenophon horse show on Sept. 30, Xenophon fundraiser at Gianni’s Bistro, Dec. 4.
D. Activities Council meeting April 18: Dodds plans to attend.
8. Sharing: Royce attended the Xenophon Gala at Blackhawk Auto Museum as Joyce McCann’s guest. Royce donated a pet portrait to the silent auction, and it elicited a substantial bid.
9. The meeting was adjourned at 5 p.m.
The next meeting will be announced following consultation with the Recreation Department.
Respectfully submitted,
Rae Miller, secretary
