7/10/2017 Minutes
1. Meet, greet and sign in, new attendees adding addresses to roster, at 2 p.m.
A. Robbee Royce called the meeting to order at 2:04 p.m. Present besides Royce: Sheila Torres, Adi and Roberta Adins, Ronald Cosma, Rae Miller, Mary Dodds, David Besenfelder, Diana St. James, Peter van Slyke, Denise Malvini and Sandra Nordgren.
2. April minutes unanimously approved on a motion by St. James, seconded by Malvini.
3. Treasurer Torres reported a petty cash balance of $49.20 and a bank balance of $385.23 with a total balance of $434.43. The report was unanimously approved on a motion by St. James, seconded by Malvini. Membership update listed 16 paid members. Dues, $10, for 2017-2018 are payable.
4. Library report: Mary Dodds donated a book to the library.
5. Webmaster reported the website was up and running at www.horseenthusiasts.weebly.com. Those wishing to post on the site should email [email protected]
6. Old business:
A. Dodds and Malvini plan to attend the next Activities Council meeting, 9 a.m., Oct. 17, Fireside Room.
7. New business:
A. After contacting the Recreation Department, club meeting time for the remainder of the year will be 2 p.m., second Monday monthly.
B. Besenfelder demonstrated using www.equibase.com for racing updates, updated status on his horses and suggested attending the Aug. 15 Thoroughbred yearling sale at Contra Costa County Fairgrounds, Pleasanton. Enter through Gate 12, no charge.
C. St. James suggested an outing to a dressage competition, Sept. 21-24, at Rancho Murieta in Sacramento County.
8. Sharing: Torres has been joining Royce to groom and exercise Tasha while Lew has been away.
9. The meeting was adjourned at 3:37 p.m.
The next meeting is scheduled at 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 14, 2017.
