1. Meet, greet and sign in, new attendees adding addresses to roster, at 4 p.m.
A. Board member Robbee Royce called the meeting to order at 4:05 p.m.
B. Present besides Royce: Sheila Torres, David Loofbourrow, Jennie Lew, Deborah Phelps, Sandra Nordgren, Lee Gale Gruen and Rae Miller.
2. Minutes for July were unanimously approved on a motion by Torres, seconded by Loofbourrow.
3. Treasurer Torres reported $30 in dues received in July, a balance of $19.20 in petty cash with an overall balance of $245.23 as of 8/15/16. Unanimously approved on a Loofbourrow motion, seconded by Lew. Miller no longer had record of those who paid in January or before May deadline and credited with dues paid until May 2017, but anyone who has should check with Torres to assure dues up to date.
4. Old business:
A. Webmaster asked what members wanted on web site, and secretary suggested adding all minutes to an archive and posting current agenda and press release monthly. Gruen donated a book, “Snowman: The $80 Champion” to the library. Library listings are on the web site and will be emailed.
B. Review of July 28 meeting on horses at Rossmoor: Elevation map of Rossmoor shows lack of suitable area for horses. Action tabled pending further discussion with Moreau and membership.
5. New business
A. Horse opportunities at Martinez stable – activities, prices, dates provided, and signup sheet was circulated. Instructors to be contacted for more information, scheduling.
B. Tasha update – Royce described her and Lew’s activities with Tasha and the need for more volunteers. She provided a checklist and contact information. Paul and Seltzer met with McCann at the stable, and Seltzer joined Royce and Lew for interaction with Tasha. Gruen to contact McCann to volunteer. Torres wants to work with Tasha but needs a partner.

D. Election of new president at September meeting – email nominations to [email protected] or call 464-7978 by Sept.15. Denise Malvini has resigned this position for health reasons.
