9/19/2016 Minutes
1. Meet, greet and sign in, new attendees adding addresses to roster, at 4 p.m.
A. Board member Robbee Royce called the meeting to order at 4:05 p.m. Present besides Royce: Sheila Torres, Jennie Lew, Sandra Nordgren, Ina Merrill, David Besenfelder, Ginny Moore, Barbara Gilbert and Rae Miller.
2. Minutes for August were unanimously approved on a motion by Torres, seconded by Besenfelder.
3. Treasurer Torres reported $30 in dues received in August, a balance of $19.20 in petty cash with an overall balance of $275.23 as of 9/19/16. Unanimously approved on a Nordgren motion, seconded by Merrill.
4. Old business:
A. Horse opportunities at Martinez stable – activities, prices, dates provided.
B. President resigns: Former president and club founder Mary Moreau offered to take presidency for six months, November through April, suggesting vice president take over for the next six months, when Moreau not residing at Rossmoor. Royce offered to fill in for VP when necessary.
5. New business
A. Upcoming events noted: Xenophon horse show, Oct. 1; Xenophon Fund Raiser, Oct. 3; Heather Farm Equestrian Center Rejuvenation, Oct. 8; others to be emailed.
B. Tasha update – Royce described her and Lew’s activities with Tasha and the need for more volunteers. Torres wants to work with Tasha but needs a partner.
C. Besenfelder updated horse sale, racing winners.
6. Meeting adjourned at 5:07 p.m.
The next meeting is Monday, Oct. 17, 2016, at 4 p.m.
