1. Meet, greet and sign in, adding addresses to roster, at 4 p.m.
a. Robbee Royce called the meeting to order at 4:10 p.m. Present besides Royce were Sheila Torres, Barbara Gilbert, Robbee Royce, David Besenfelder, Ardean Lehnus, Rae Miller, Kendra Anderson and Jennie Lew.
2. Anderson and Lew gave brief introductions as first-time attendees.
3. Minutes of the Aug. 17 meeting were read and unanimously approved.
4. Treasurer’s report –
a. Dues for 2015 are payable and will be due annually at the May meetings.
b. Balance in the club account is $97.45 including deposit of $30 in dues collected at the August meeting, $50 in previously collected dues and $17.45 in petty cash.
5. Old business:
a. Activities Council reminder – next meeting is Oct. 20. The Activities Council meets on the third Tuesday bimonthly. A member of the club is required at each meeting at 9 a.m. for a social hour, followed by the meeting at 9:30 a.m. Club representatives have an opportunity to report on their club’s activities.
b. Web site – Kathie Paul ill; was to follow up with Carl Brown; some discussion of ways to enhance what would be a very basic web site.
c. Librarian
6. Activities and Opportunities
a. Carpool at Gateway at 8:30 a.m. to go to Xenophon Therapeutic Riding Center annual horse show in Orinda, Sept. 26.
b. Busy owner, lonely horse – owner seeking more human contact, activity for her Arab gelding. Contact information provided for those interested.
c. Riding, lesson, Cavalia information presented. More lesson information to be obtained.
d. Horses displaced by fires – ways to help discussed; everyone at the meeting made cash contributions totaling $100 with check to be mailed to rescue group.
e. Following up on an activity previously proposed, Besenfelder scheduled a visit to training and the stable area at Golden Gate Fields on Sunday, Oct. 25, meeting at Gateway at 7:30 a.m. for carpooling.
The meeting was adjourned at 5:07 p.m.
The next meeting will be at 4 p.m. Oct. 19.
