HORSE CLUB DONATES $500TO AMERICAN WILD HORSE CAMPAIGN
A donation of $500 to the American Wild Horse Campaign was approved at the July meeting of the Horse Enthusiasts Club of Rossmoor. Based in Davis, CA, The American Wild Horse Campaign ’s website states that it is “a nonprofit organization fighting to ensure the future of America's iconic wild horses and burros and the Western public lands where they roam. “We work to reform the cruel and costly federal wild horse and burro roundup program and replace it with humane management that keeps wild horses and burros wild, protected, and free. AWHC manages the largest, humane fertility control program for wild, free-roaming horses in the world.” The club’s donation is one of several efforts to aid horse-related organizations since the club’s founding in 2015.
Member Wendy Markel reported that her daughter has donated horse-care items to Xenophon Therapeutic Riding Center in Orinda.
Bill Quarles, club president, attended the Activities Council Presidents Reception in June, noting that council dues aid Rossmoor residents, and Rossmoor’s 180 clubs can request Council assistance. Quarles said the reception was successful and will be held yearly.
The Horse Enthusiasts Club holds its meetings on the second Monday of each month at 1 p.m. in the Mulligan Room, Creekside Complex.
Horse Enthusiasts Club of Rossmoor is open to anyone interested in horses and horse-related activities. For information or to attend a meeting, call Rae Starr Miller, 925-464-7978, or email [email protected].
